CT - CAD Designer

MAJOR INTERESTS AND SKILLS
Mechanical design and drafting utilizing AutoCAD, Solid Edge and SDRC I-DEAS in 2-D and 3D environments. Trained in ASME/ANSI Y14.5 GD&T, with knowledge of manufacturing and machining procedures. Experienced in designing, detailing, documenting, and aiding in the production of mechanical parts and assemblies. Computer Aided Design for cleanrooms, laboratories, aerospace, semiconductor manufacture, service equipment, construction, moving and storage, industrial machinery, and consumer products.

EXPERIENCE
CAD Technician and Designer using Autodesk Building Systems software to create design phase and construction drawings and technical documents for cleanrooms and laboratories. Recent projects include University of Michigan SSEL and Steve Forrest Labs, including tool hookup detail design, construction documents for Duke University CIEMAS cleanroom, and programming layout studies for PerkinElmer TFT sensor fab expansion.

Product designer and production engineer with experience in use of Solid Edge ver. 14/15 utilized to design products for a custom window and door manufacturing company. Programmed a five axis C.N.C. machining center and designed shop equipment, tooling, fixtures, prototypes and shop drawings.

Mechanical Designer and Illustrator for a semiconductor sales and service company using Solid Edge ver. 8/9 to design Die Bonding and Pick & Place machines. Designed product specific custom tooling, working directly with clients, vendors and in-house machine shop for quick turnaround projects.

Mechanical Designer using SDRC I-DEAS Master Series 6 to create parts and assemblies for commercial rockets and test/ground equipment. Duties included taking design projects from engineering concepts to production ready documentation through use of mil specs and ASME/ANSI Y14.5.

Mechanical Designer/Detailer using SDRC I-DEAS Master Series 5 and AutoCAD rel. 13/14 to design equipment used in the C.M.P. process, including handling robots, polish head components and waste handling systems. Experience in close tolerance parts, complex mechanical assemblies, cabinet layout, electrical/pneumatic packaging and cable routing. Used ASME/ANSI Y14.5.

Experience as a draftsman using AutoCAD rel. 2.62 - 12 to create production and assembly documentation including weldment drawings and general drafting of parts used for manufacturing rental moving trucks and trailers. In addition, has experience using AutoCAD rel. 10/12 to create new products and publications for a window manufacturing facility.
